A dry flat brush is a soft tool. Using it requires total focus, self-confidence, and patience. Lettering with a rather dry brush creates marvelous traces of colors and textures which is why this brush technique goes so well with Gothic hands and their patterns. The subtle lines and soft touches of the brush will change the student’s appreciation for how calligraphy exercises should be: light and soft.

During a five week, two hours per week course, Loredana will initially demonstrate all the Gothic or Textura letter forms, both lowercase and capitals using the dry brush; so, it is not necessary to have any pre-knowledge of the script.

Session recordings: Recordings of every session will be provided within a day after the conclusion of each session and remain available for two months following the last class.

Facebook Page: PSC will create a private Facebook page exclusively for this workshop. As a key component of the workshop, the Facebook page will be a place where students can share their work following each session and, importantly, where Loredana will have the opportunity to review and critique student work.

Handouts and Other Details: A full set of workshop handouts, any guidelines that Loredana may use and all other course details, including the Zoom link to the first online sessions, will be made available to admitted students a week or more before the first session.
