Introduction to Modern Versals
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
In this one-day workshop you will learn how to construct modern versal letters. This all-capital style of letters can be formal, casual, or slightly wonky, They can be the sole attraction of a calligraphy piece, or work in conjunction with other letter scripts. You can expect that by the end of the workshop you will know how to write A-Z, with an idea of how to tweak the forms to suit your style. Skills that will be addressed are: drawing letters, basic design, working with pen ink and gouache.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Angelina Cox is a calligrapher from Portland Oregon. She has a BA in Art History from Portland State University and a Certificate of Calligraphy from Roehampton University UK. Angelina teaches beginning Calligraphy at Mt Hood Community College. In her spare time (non-quarantined) she enjoys traveling with her most recent adventure a month-long trip to Australia, Christmas Island, and New Zealand.

Tuition: $50 for members, $80 for non-members which provides membership through 2020.
Supply Fee: None. Registrants will need to print guidelines and materials ahead of time.
