Honorary Lifetime Member

Calligrapher, artist, former PSC President

“Calligraphy is a spiritual, even magical journey that gives deeper meaning to the words we write and connects us  with a community of like-minded souls.”

Meri’s Story

Meri’s first experience with calligraphy was in 1999, when she signed up for a pointed-brush class with Carol DuBosch. Through that class, she found a generous community of artists in the Portland Society for Calligraphy.

Meri served on the PSC Board for twelve years, including seven as president. She teamed up with Carol DuBosch to co-direct Calligraphy Northwest, the international calligraphy conference held at Reed College in 2012. She is now serving as Co-Chair of the Workshops Committee.
