The PSC in-person Calligraphy study group

Please join us for our new in-person calligraphy study group, Laugh Lines & Letters at The Grotto every third Saturday of the Month, January through November of 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
We’ll be in the The Grotto Auditorium, one floor directly below the Chapel of Mary as indicated on the map.

We’ll be getting ink on our hands, laughing, learning from each other, experimenting, playing, and creating while building a sense of community with fellow PSC members.

Bring any project you’d like to work on, and any supplies you want to use. Feel free to bring questions to the group, new tools and toys to share or demo, and anything else calligraphy related.
The PSC Calligraphy Library will be available for viewing and borrowing.
Stay for the whole time, or just drop in when you can. We look forward to seeing you!

Why I love Laugh Lines & Letters:

  • Because this is something new and fresh in my life, a gift I can give myself that is sure to lift me up on a Saturday morning
  • Because I love being a part of beginning and building something new, widening my creative horizons, and making new connections
  • Because I will be walking into a room full of friendly faces — generous, talented people who share my love of Calligraphy
  • Because I know I will have fun, learn something new, and will have a chance to improve on something I’m already working on
  • Because it’s a very good thing get up and do, rather than sleeping in (always a temptation)
  • Because I know that even if I walk in with my tank empty, it will be full when I leave
  • Because I always leave with my fingers twitching, which is my sign that I’m ready to work

I’m grateful to Katrina and Linda for bringing some sparkle back to calligraphy in Portland! And for PSC for taking the leap and hosting in-person calligraphy events for again. Please join us next month and check it out; I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t enjoy yourself!
