Welcome to the 2022 Portland Society of Calligraphy
Fall Member Exhibition
The prompt for this exhibit is a quote by Henry James: “Summer afternoon-summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.” ~ Henry James
James’ sentiment served as inspiration for artists to explore words that when juxtaposed are beautiful; words with a strong message; words that inspired a larger piece; words that are just beautiful on the page. The artworks that resulted are delightful, with each artist developing a personal interpretation.
It is our hope that this exhibition encourages you to contemplate your own ideas of Beautiful Words!
Please contact PSC at portlandsocietyofcalligraphy.org for inquiries regarding purchase of any of the pieces.
