David’s Story

David Kohl was a member of the Calligraphy Society in the 1970’s and early 1980’s. He passed away naturally on August 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and connection.  I attended several calligraphy classes with David, and he attended Menucha at least once, perhaps more times.  Dave was widely known for the handmade coffee mugs he crafted in the basement of his historic 1910 farmhouse.  He made several ceramic paint trays, which I continue to use, and he also made two coffee mugs for me, which I now use to hold pens. He is survived by one son and a sister.
